Frida the Dog needs a home

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.

Say hello to this gorgeous girl we call Frida!

Frida is a near perfect dog that is believed to have been left behind by her family. She spent her days racing the streets, visiting the school and was seen sneaking up behind the children looking for someone familiar. Her routine revolved around school sessions when she'd sit in a perfect stance watching everyone go by at a safe distance as if looking for someone specific. A local trapper was called to help get her safe in hopes of finding her family. Unfortunately she was not fixed, had no chip and not a single person came forward in response to attempts to locate her owner or to claim her at the shelter.

Frida is believed to be a boxer/pointer mix and demonstrates all the great qualities of both breeds. She bonds quickly, is eager to please, athletic and very affectionate. She knows a solid sit, shakes and is working on recall but will benefit by some basic training to polish her manners since she is still a youngster. She walks great on leash and is gaining confidence with people. She still needs a gentle introduction as she learns people can be trusted and are not going to chase her but becomes instant friends with your lead. She needs a home where she will be secure inside or crated when left alone since she has been abandoned and may be a flight risk if left in a yard when her people leave.

This girl is full of life, love and joy. She is a young pup with the energy and carefree attitude of youth but beyond the destructive puppy phase. She is house trained, does well in and out of a crate when left alone and would be fine for a home or apartment setting. She is great with dogs, cats, birds and large animals. She loves to play with other dogs, greets every one as an instant playmate and will frolic for hours. She is also content to just be present with her people, has no issue being a couch potato and just wants to be loved. She is guaranteed to make you smile throughout the day.
